My home institution is not a fully fledged research institute and i am hoping upon my return the centre can be upgraded to such. We run a referral paediatric HIV Clinic for the government. We are like a private-public partnership and we have a large pool of patients. We have done clinical trials in the past including pharmacokinetic trial but i would like to see more of this. I am hoping that after my training more of clinical trials especially drug development ones will happen. Still to figure it all out.

Hi Glory,
Welcome back home . Hope you will face the realities back home with a lot of stoicism. I want to let you know that you will have a different impression of research as soon as you come back but with time you have started figuring out what you will do with the knowledge you gathered out there. Move on and things will work as time goes by. You can always achieve what you want if you remain focused as i got to know you in Geneva last year.
Move on my friend. -
I have just settled down in office after being away for one year in the USA for the fellowship training. I returned home to discover that the leadership of my institution has changed completely. So, i have to recreate awareness about the essence of my fellowship training so that my institution can benefit maximally from my experience. I am still working on how best to go about this. Meanwhile, I have gathered a team of young researchers who are planning to do research and write dissertations for various post-graduate colleges in West Africa and Nigeria. I have started a series of didactic and practical training in subjects related to clinical research. I hope to use this as a springboard to renew and incerease interest in clinical research in my institution. I will update you about my progress as time goes on.
